Our team often write to the organisers of Pi Wars attempting to exploit loopholes. Here are some of our recent favourites.
Q. “Any method to persuade the sheep” - are we allowed to stack the sheep during transport, so long as they remain upright and are not stacked once delivered inside the enclosure? or do they all need their feet on the ground throughout the challenge?
A. Hmmm. I will check that with the others. I quite like the idea, but I'm not sure it's quite in the spirit of it.
Q. Can we collect the wolves on our tractor and carry them around with us (loose wolves are a danger. As farmers it would be safer to collect them humanely and then call the National Trust to relocate them, rather than releasing them back onto our farm!)
A. Yes. As long as they stay upright.
Q. If we drive the whole robot into the enclosure and close the gate behind us, is that a successful run? Technically all sheep are inside the gate…?
A. Yes. Relevant loophole :-)
Q. “You may construct the apples” - could we use ping pong balls (or similar, so long as they are about 40mm)?
A. Yes. If you can find 40mm ping pong balls. :p
On that last question... guess how big ping pong balls are?
Wahey! Keep following us for more loopholes and life hacks.
