Memories of Plague-Free Pi Jam

Updated: Feb 16

NI Raspberry Jam was a monthly coding event that most of the people in STEV3 attended. It's where most of us met.

We would meet at Queens University to spend the day learning how to crack wifi passwords, code Python Minecraft and much more (but since it's us, a lot of it was actually spent messing around).

I remember my first day at Pi Jam, when it was just my dad and I. I didn't really know anyone well, but soon after that I started to make lots of friends, which made everything a lot more fun (no offence dad).

The ages of people attending really varied, but I felt like I made lots of different types of friends, even with the people hosting the event, and that we were close enough to become friends outside of Pi Jam as well.

Doing competitions like FLL and Pi Wars has also really made me appreciate the group of people that attend Pi Jam. During the 2019 FLL, we had our own room where a lot of !! EXTREME !! robot sessions went on while everyone else was at the Jam. It's strange leaving all that behind because of Covid, but I'm looking forward to when this is all over, as we had lots of fun memories. I cant wait to get back :)
